9/1 Second Window to Indo (West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia)

`
What's stranger than being in a foreign country for the first time? Going back a second time...

Revisiting a place means that your memories - fond or shitty - are about to be pushed aside and/or overwritten. It's about moving on, and that can be very difficult.

After landing in Denpasar, I made a quick getaway from Bali...

Airplane to Denpasar
Taxi to Padangbai
Ferry to Lembar
Bemo to Mataram

Overnight ferry from Bali (Padang Bai) to Lombok (Lembar)

First stops, visiting friends :)

Non-alcoholic Bintang (local beer) !
Bintang = star

After a few days in Chakranegara, Mataram...

I continued east to explore Sumbawa, an island I had never been before

...on another night ferry

Then some bad stuff happened, involving a truck, pervert, and money. But let's not get into that!

The next day was much better :)

Bemo!

Are we there yet?

And I found this place by mistake...

One day, Rinjani...

This trip is difficult to summarize using words and photos. It was an emotional and challenging trip. One that presented very little of what I wanted but very much of what I needed. It was humbling, and it was real. And I can still say
