10/28 Driving the Fly Over States (Route 80, USA)

Sometimes you find yourself in a situation where the next step seems like a chore. For some it's an opportunity. But I refuse to settle for anything less than Adventure! And while Merriam-Webster defines "adventure" as an exciting or dangerous experience, I say it's always going to be dangerous, so you might as well get excited about it.

A road trip around the USA. It's something I've always wanted to do. After years of looking forward to it, I finally looked within and saw readiness and strength instead of fear and excuses. So, I'm gonna let my drive drive me.

Here I come, fly over states!! Jason Aldean, watch me drive through Indiana (again) :)

Hello and good bye, new Bay Bridge!

 WIFI at the Rest Area!

For the next four weeks I would spend many nights sleeping in rest areas. With seats folded down, 2 cots loaded with blankets, and curtains all around, I had created a mobile intimate fort :)

 Wah!

Long a major population center and major engine of worldwide automobile manufacturing, Detroit has gone through a continuing economic decline. Between 2000 and 2010 Detroit's population fell by 25 percent, changing its ranking from the nation's 10th largest city to 18th. The ongoing decline has left its mark on the city, most notably in severe urban decay and thousands of empty homes, apartment buildings and commercial buildings around the city. Many neighborhoods remain distressed. The state governor declared a financial emergency in March 2013, appointing an emergency manager. On July 18, 2013, Detroit filed the largest municipal bankruptcy case in U.S. history. [Wikipedia]
